How a multi-country carrier reduced mean time to resolution by 97% after migrating to a multi-cloud architecture — and eliminated manual NOC triage for the first time.
A carrier operating 24x7 NOC across 12 countries needed to migrate its core network monitoring and service management infrastructure to a multi-cloud architecture. The migration involved simultaneous workload movement across multiple geographies, each with different network topology, SLA requirements, and regulatory constraints.
The existing monitoring stack had no capability to observe cross-cloud topology during migration waves. As workloads shifted, the NOC would go partially blind — with visibility into only one side of each migration boundary. Previous multi-site migrations had resulted in incidents that took an average of 4.5 hours to resolve due to the manual correlation required across fragmented tooling.
Applicare was deployed across all 12 country environments before the first migration wave began. Its entity graph mapped the full network topology — including cross-country dependencies, routing relationships, and service chains — providing a unified view that persisted across the hybrid boundary as each wave executed.
IntelliSense monitored the topology in real time throughout each migration wave. During wave 2, it detected a network-layer anomaly in one country environment that existing tools had not surfaced. The issue was isolated and resolved within 8 minutes — before any downstream service was impacted.
Two further anomalies were detected and resolved mid-migration in subsequent waves. In all three cases, resolution was completed before any SLA threshold was breached.
Post-migration, mean time to resolution dropped from 4.5 hours to 11 minutes — a 97% reduction. The NOC team eliminated manual cross-tool correlation entirely, replacing it with Applicare's causal graph. For the first time in the organization's history, the NOC operated without manual triage.
“We run 24x7 across 12 countries and we have never had a migration go this cleanly. IntelliSense caught things mid-wave that we would have spent hours tracking down manually. The ROI was clear in the first sprint.”
