System Requirements
Before you deploy Applicare, confirm your environment meets the minimum requirements below. Sizing depends on the number of monitored hosts, agents, and the retention window you configure.
Supported platforms#
The Applicare server runs on 64-bit Linux. Agents are available for Linux, Windows, and container runtimes.
| Component | Supported |
|---|---|
| Server OS | RHEL / Rocky / Alma 8–9, Ubuntu 20.04–24.04, Amazon Linux 2023 |
| Agent OS | Linux (glibc 2.17+), Windows Server 2016+, container base images |
| Java runtime | Bundled OpenJDK 17 (no separate install required) |
| Container | Docker 20.10+, containerd 1.6+, Kubernetes 1.24+ |
Sizing guidance#
Start from the tier that matches your fleet size and scale horizontally as you add hosts.
| Fleet | vCPU | RAM | Disk (30-day retention) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Up to 100 agents | 4 | 16 GB | 250 GB SSD |
| 100–500 agents | 8 | 32 GB | 750 GB SSD |
| 500–2,000 agents | 16 | 64 GB | 2 TB SSD (NVMe recommended) |
Tip: Metric and trace retention are the main disk drivers. You can tune retention per data type in Administration → Data retention.
Network & ports#
Agents open a single outbound TLS connection to the server — no inbound ports are required on monitored hosts.
443/tcp Agent → Server (data ingest, TLS 1.2+)
8443/tcp Browser → Server (web console, HTTPS)
5671/tcp Server → Broker (event bus, optional HA)If you run an outbound proxy, set ARC_PROXY_URL in the agent config. See Agent Installation.
